I’m BACK!

DSC_0094So, my last post was exactly two months ago… wow. What a two months it has been. Life has been crazy!

Since my last post:

  • closed on our new home!
  • moved into our new home
  • painted three rooms in our new home
  • let it sink in that I live in an actual home
  • three weeks of resident director training
  • one week of resident assistant training
  • welcome weekend at grace college
  • four super busy weeks starting school
  • writing my final magl cohort paper (30 pages)
  • began new class in the grad program at grace
  • countless other things I’ve forgotten…

DSC_0197I can honestly say I have never worked as hard as I’ve worked these past two months. I remember thinking that I wanted to be challenged in my next occupation - well, wish granted! I have never felt so incompetent and dependant. Thankfully, I have an absolutely amazing support structure - my wife and kids have been unbelievable, my coworkers in Student Affairs are very helpful, and my team of RDs and RAs have been awesome! In fact, the people around me are so good, hardly anyone knows that I don’t have a clue what I’m doing. Proof of God’s goodness and grace.

So, that’s a quick update. I need to resume this blog. It’s my therapy. It really doesn’t matter if anyone reads it (though I selfishly hope someone does) because it’s generally a good time for me to stop and reflect.

“Back on track.”

Metanoia.

PS - these are recent pics of two people I have enjoyed spending more time with recently… they leave me speechless
